MadeforTVdramarecreatingtheMay1937disasterinwhichtheGermanairshiptheHindenburgcaughtfire.TheHindenburgwasthelargestairshipintheworldandasymbolofgrowingGermancommercialandmilitarypower.Initiallydesignedtousethenon-flammableheliumasaliftinggas,theUSembargoonheliumexportsforcedtheuseofhydrogeninstead.Thisprovedcatastrophicwhen,dockinginNewJerseyin1937,theshipcaughtfireandburnedfuriouslybeforetheeyesoftheworld.ThedramafollowssomeoftheHindenburg’spassengers,includinganairshipdesigner,GestapoagentsandfleeingJews,astheyjourneytowardstragedy.
